Employer Reporting Requirements

Alberta

If your worker has been injured, you are required by law to submit the employer report of injury form within 72 hours after becoming aware of an injury or illness. The sooner WCB receives your information, the faster we can determine entitlement for your worker to benefits and services.

British Columbia

Employers in British Columbia must report any work-related injury or disease to WorkSafeBC within 3 days if it requires medical treatment beyond first aid or results in the worker being unable to perform their job duties. Serious incidents, such as fatalities or life-threatening injuries, must be reported immediately using the Prevention Information Line.

Saskatchewan

Employers in Saskatchewan must report work-related injuries to the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) within 5 days of being made aware of them.
